Technically the material is acrylic, similar to that of an aquarium. Splash Pools has been building swimming pools with acrylic windows for nearly 10 years.

Round Acrylic Spa in Swimming Pool
The spa is a single 9-foot diameter piece of acrylic with 2.5 inch thick walls and sits twelve inches above the pool. In order to make the spa the focal point, we incorporated strip LED lights around the spa so you can control the color separate from the pool. A crane was required to move the single 9-foot diameter acrylic spa walls into place.
Acrylic Windows into Pool
This pool has a very modern look with straight-clean lines, square columns and LED lights along the acrylic pool walls. In the bar area, there is an acrylic wall and bar stools in the pool. The tile on the pool columns matches the house.
It took coordination to make a 2.5” thick piece of acrylic fit perfectly into slots within columns while maintaining structural integrity and preventing leaks. We had to coordinate with a structural engineer and the acrylic manufacturer in order to make it work properly. The acrylic had to be craned in over the house because of the weight.
